Smart Lawn Care Tips for a Greener, Water-Wise Summer
Keeping your lawn healthy during hot Texas summers doesn’t have to mean wasting water. Here are some smart ways to save:
💧 Water deeply and less often—just once or twice a week—to help grass grow strong, drought-resistant roots.
⏰ Water early in the morning or late evening, never between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., to reduce evaporation.
🛠️ Check your sprinkler system twice a year for leaks or broken heads, and keep your controller’s backup battery fresh.
✂️ Mow high and leave the clippings—taller grass shades the soil and saves water. Avoid “scalping” your lawn.
🌿 Use compost to enrich your soil and mulch around trees and flowerbeds to lock in moisture.
