We are putting the lineup of artists for the next edition of New Music Monday, which airs every Monday evening at 6:30 pm, right here on B2 Radio. We will announce the lineup for Monday's show sometime on Friday evening. In the meantime, while the listenership numbers weren't the greatest, due to the well over 200 who participated in our Facebook poll this past Monday, we are proud to announce that we will be adding all of the songs that were played on Monday's show to our lineup of music on B2. So that means that "Need a Cold Beer" by Grey Moon Music, "Hateful Reflection" by Chloe Whorton, and "Them Shades" by Brandon Hartley, will be added to our playlist. We will be reaching out to each artist individually to let them which the time block/program, that their song will be added to. THIS WEEK (June 9th- 15th) Featuring 1980! Listen Live: www.onehitwondersds.com #36 January 1980- “Rapper’s Delight”- The Sugarhill Gang- A hip hop group from Englewood, NJ., known mostly for its 1979 hit. It was the first rap single to become a Top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. The song uses an interpolation of the instrumental track from the hit "Good Times" by Chic as its foundation. The Sugarhill Gang never had another US hit, though it had a slew of European hits, such as "Apache", "8th Wonder" (which was performed on the American music show Soul Train in 1981), "Rapper's Reprise (Jam Jam)", and "Showdown" (with the Furious Five). In 1999, the trio reunited and recorded “Jump on It!”, a hip hop children's album. In 2016, the remaining living members of the original Sugarhill Gang, including Wonder Mike, Hendogg and Master Gee embarked on their first world tour in over a decade.
