Some frames from cold open of the upcoming stand up show, A Night Show at Big Couch, this Saturday 2/28 at 9:30pm. If you're a Nola local, come through and see the show!
Keep reading for some fun tidbits about the production! So I took a bit of a leap of faith on this and shot this whole project wide open on my vintage Nikon AIS lenses (35mm 1.4, 55mm 1.2, and 85mm 2), on a Sony FX6 and the image was a lot more manageable than I thought! Aside from some (imo interesting) coma flaring from the VERY bright lamps in the scene, the image is very pleasing, with very little "digital edge".
As far as color grading goes, I took another leap of faith and based this off a Fujifilm film stock and print (specifically Super-F 8572 500T, printed to Fujifilm 3513D). I'm usually more attracted to Kodak looks, but I wanted to try something different, and it came out nicely!
Even more fun fact, the scene was lit with only two lightbulbs, and two sub 60w film lights! We'll have a video about this was possible coming soon, so make sure you're subbed to our channel to see it! Before that though, make sure you slide on through to see this awesome stand up show!!
