Athlete Spotlight: Aubrey Klingensmith

Belchertown High School sophomore Aubrey Klingensmith is making her mark in a big way.

Aubrey is a 10th grade javelin thrower and the current BHS school record holder with an incredible throw of 117 feet, 11 inches. She recently placed 1st at the Division 5 Massachusetts State Meet and will compete this Saturday at the Massachusetts Meet of Champions.

Congratulations, Aubrey, on an outstanding season so far. Belchertown will be cheering you on this weekend. Belchertown High School Track & Field

The Quaboag Valley Relay For Life braved the weather and gathered on the town common to walk laps, enjoy dinner, and participate in fun activities together. It is all done to celebrate those who heard the words “you’ve got cancer” and are still here, to honor caregivers, and to raise money for further research.

Some big things happening on the Belchertown portion of the Mass Rail Trail.

Restoring a beloved, scenic 19th century railroad bridge.

Friends of the Belchertown Greenway and the Town of Belchertown received a MassTrails grant in 2025 to reconstruct the decking of the historic Jabish Brook Trestle Bridge. This is a key link in a 3.9 mile section of MCRT that is popular with equestrians, walkers, mountain bikers and snowmobilers
