Born October 30, 1947, Timothy B. Schmit turns 78 today. Known for his smooth vocals and steady bass lines, he’s been the quiet force behind some of the greatest harmonies in rock. Before joining the Eagles in 1977, Schmit was already making waves with Poco — then helped take the Eagles to new heights on classics like “I Can’t Tell You Why,” “Love Will Keep Us Alive,” and “The Long Run.”

Soft-spoken but endlessly talented, Timothy’s voice and songwriting have always added warmth and heart to every band he’s played with. A true musician’s musician — Happy Birthday, Timothy!
