Salt Pond Studio is pleased to present the art of Jamie Spooner in a solo exhibition, “Night and Day.” Spooner, a long time resident of Friendship, earned her B.A. in Studio Art from Smith College and has worked in a range of creative fields, from teaching art in Switzerland and Florence, to running a web design company in the Bay Area, and is currently building her video and animation business. No matter the medium, her passion for painting, illustration, and photography has always been at the center of her work. In celebration of this joyful exhibition, there will be an artist reception on Saturday, September 6 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. The exhibit runs September 4 through September 21.

In her debut exhibition, Clara Yim Bolduc presents 17 new paintings at L/A Arts Gallery that challenge the traditional representation of the Maine landscape. Primarily large scale, vertical format the pieces also feature a variety of textures, media, and styles. The artist invites viewers to experience each painting with the excitement and immediacy of a newly discovered landscape. There will be an opening reception on August 29 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm, and the show runs through October 10.

When the lights go up on the stage on September 12 & 13 at the Maine Irish Heritage Center for “It Can’t Happen Here” (a play based on the novel by Sinclair Lewis) it will be like an old time radio play, with actors in front of the microphones.
