Dear Friends and Neighbors,
I would like to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to be your Sheriff. Public service has always been my calling, and the highest honor I've had is being your Sheriff of Gilchrist
County. That said, I am excited to announce that I will be seeking re-election in 2024 to another term as your Sheriff.
Since becoming your Sheriff in 2013, I have dedicated myself, and the Gilchrist County
Sheriff's Office, to being professional and accountable. We are an agency driven by
common sense and commitment to the law while doing the right thing. I was raised in Gilchrist County and am a graduate of Bell High School. I have been an active member of our community before and after being elected Sheriff. Before being elected I spent my entire professional life in Corrections, Law Enforcement, or as an Investigator within the criminal justice system. I also served 18 months as a Law Enforcement Advisor in Afghanistan. Since being elected I have served as the President of the Florida Sheriff's
Association, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Florida Sheriff's Association, Board Member of the Florida Sheriff's Youth Ranches, and a member of several local organizations that support our youth and our community.
During my terms as Sheriff, I have unfortunately been faced with some of the most horrible crimes ever to come to our community. Together we have weathered those
storms and become stronger and closer as a result. Standing between the public and the evil that lurks within it, I believe, is truly my calling. My commitment and dedication to serve is even stronger now than it was when I began my career more than 30 years ago.
It takes proven leadership and dedication to service to lead an agency of 75 employees. I have worked my entire professional life to acquire the knowledge, skills, and abilities to be the best leader I can be for the residents of Gilchrist County. I pledge to never stop in my quest to learn and lead in a manner that makes you not only proud of me as your Sheriff, but also of the men and women who serve you at the Gilchrist County Sheriff's Office.
I thank you for your support of me, and of the GCSO, during my terms as Sheriff, I humbly ask for your continued support and allow me to continue as your Sheriff in 2024.
