Cook Through The Freezer continues. This was a simple dump recipe. Used our home canned chicken broth, seasoning, broccoli (froze last year processing veggies), cubed chicken breast and some rice. Baked and topped with cheese.

The freedom rangers are outgrowing their tractor. They are the most unbothered chickens and need some coaxing to get out of the way. Our next batch of meat birds are closer to a heritage breed and will be split into more tractors as they are more active birds.

Girls have been busy. I load the egg stand on Sundays but let me know if you need eggs through the week!

You can’t have a homestead with a HOME! So some days, those chores have nothing to do with the animals, garden, or food- but instead the landscaping on your house you neglected while building your dream garden 🫣. I’ve spent the last couple weeks on the landscaping project for our home. Pulling lots of weeds, trimming hedges, powerwashing siding, and shoveling 4 TONS of new gravel.

We lost power in the storm and I was even more grateful for my crockpot meal that was already done. Even though the crockpot had no power, the broth was hot enough to cook our noodles perfectly after pulling out the turkey. Yum 🦃

Today’s episode of “Cook through the freezer”.
Turkey quarters followed by noodles. I love making something with the broth after cooking meat. Work smarter not harder and less waste.

Fresh milled sour dough pizza night.
Pepperoni and peppers, chicken alfredo, Mediterranean. I used my garlic scapes and spinach from my garden. I love making dinner fresh from my own backyard. What’s your favorite pizza topping?
