From orange eyesore to tournament-ready rig — all on a budget!

This kayak was BRIGHT ORANGE just a week ago. I hit it with a fresh coat of paint, installed a front hatch, anchor system, rod holders, and even scored a comfy seat cushion — all without breaking the bank.

You don’t need a $3,000+ setup to chase bass and chase dreams.

This is just the beginning… more upgrades are on the way. If y’all are feeling this, I’ll drop a full Budget Kayak Build series to help others get on the water and start fishing competitively for cheap.

Spring is heating up and the beds are loaded — time to get surgical from the kayak.

Rolled up to a quiet backwater this morning, water glassy, temps finally creeping up, and sure enough… I spotted a pair of locked-in bass guarding their turf. You know what time it is.

Tied on the Booyah Boo Jig in that clean white and black, paired it up with a Strike King Rattlin’ Rage Craw in Pearl — that subtle thump, that flash… money.

Pitched right to the edge of the bed — slow drag, slight twitch… BOOM. Mama wasn’t having it. That fish crushed it like it owed her something.
