Remixxd Eats... Caporella's Italian Ristorante in Uniontown, PA!
Told you that it wouldn't be a long wait for a Caporella's recap! We headed there on Sunday after a performance of "The Little Mermaid" at the State Theatre in Uniontown. The show got interrupted by a "young theatre patron" pulling the fire alarm and evacuating the entire place. But that's a story for another time!
We have gone to all the homes of Caporella's over the years, in Perryopolis, and Rostraver, and now Uniontown, and their food has always been first-rate. We go way back with the Filak family and know how much they put into running their business. It's exciting to see how the restaurant continues to thrive over the years - it was certainly packed on this day!
After some deliberation, I ultimately opted for the Italian sampler: spaghetti, gnocchi, and meat ravioli, with a softball-sized meatball. And no, I couldn't finish it! The portion was enormous, and that was after I ate their fresh-baked bread with dipping oil AND Italian wedding soup. No dessert for me (although my Father-in-law found room!)
The kids also ordered/inhaled gnocchi, and my wife went for the wood-fired pizza, which is always a solid choice. I would have had some if I had any remaining real estate in my belly, which I did not. I guess I'll have to steal a piece from the fridge later.
I also have to add that our service was outstanding, which is noteworthy because the restaurant was dealing with an influx of theater patrons who were in the theater, then evacuated, then back in again, then out when the show ended. The downtown area was a bit chaotic, but the Caporella's team handled the crowd perfectly.
So there you have it: Caporella's served great Italian food! Not exactly breaking news π But I would not steer you wrong. If you're looking for healthy portions and endless flavor, take a trip to Fayette County and thank me later!
Caporella's is located at Grindle Station in Uniontown, PA. Open Tuesday-Saturday 11-9, Sunday 11-8, and closed Monday. Visit them at www.caporellas.com.

What is Remixxd Eats?
If you saw our brief post on the successful hunt for Nuzzaci's Pizza a few days ago, it has inspired me to start a new feature on local food.
As the owner of a local business, I understand the struggle of getting the word out effectively. We have created a platform here that can really do some good. So we're going to pop in here and there and feature local restaurants, businesses, and I may throw in a picture of what I'm cooking on occasion just for fun. It's going to be positive and authentic. We are FEATURING local spots.
Why am I doing this? Many reasons! Food is a hobby, a passion, my entertainment. Two of my favorite shows are "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" and "Bizarre Foods". My family was in the food industry for nearly 100 years. I love to write. I also love to help people and fellow local businesses. This is not a paid program, it's not for money. If we do something nice, I believe that people will in turn learn about us and what we do!
Any suggestions to check out? Let me know in the comments!
