Meet the Finalists for Belleville's Next City Manager
The Belleville City Council has selected four finalists from a field of 19 applicants in the search for the city's next City Manager. The finalists will participate in public interviews on Saturday, June 13, at Belleville City Hall, 330 Charles Street.
Residents are welcome to attend and learn more about each candidate as they share their experience, qualifications, and vision for Belleville's future.

Candidate biographies are shared below. We encourage community members to review the candidates and attend the interviews.
Krystina Laslo brings extensive Wayne County municipal expertise to the table. She served as Chief of Staff for the Dearborn Heights Mayor’s Office for 17 years, managing operations and city budgets. A 2021 mayoral candidate, she has represented regional coalitions like the Conference of Western Wayne and holds business degrees from the University of Michigan-Dearborn.
Darwin McClary is a seasoned public administrator with over 30 years of experience as a city and village manager. Holding a Master’s Degree in Public Administration, his expertise spans human resources, collective bargaining, procurement, and grant administration. He was previously named the top candidate for the township administrator position in neighboring Sumpter Township.
Brady Peck offers robust logistical and infrastructure management experience from neighboring Washtenaw County, where he serves as the Director of Operations for County Administration. He has successfully spearheaded major county-wide public asset programs, negotiated multi-agency regional transit contracts, and managed large-scale budget allocations handed down by regional governing boards.
Stephen Jones is the current Interim City Manager and the sole internal candidate. His deep local roots include serving as Assistant City Manager, Project Manager, and an elected City Council member. A former Planning Commission president and Van Buren Public Schools facilities supervisor, he provides direct operational continuity for Belleville’s day-to-day municipal governance.
