To all our Christmas lights friends! Just wanted to give a shout-out to Belleville High School Drama. They're performing "SpongeBob the Musical" this year. Our daughter has a major role in this very ambitious and entertaining production. Shows are May 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. (Two shows on Saturday!). This will be a fantastic night out you won't want to miss! Feel free to message me if you need further details.

Our Story

VanBurenLights is a computer controlled christmas light show with over 60,000 separately controlled LED lights. The show is set to music over FM radio station 87.9. The display is in it’s 8th year. Back in 2009 it was all incandescent with 48 discreet blinking elements. Over the years we added music over FM radio, and ultimately transitioned to all LED pixel lights.

Everything you see in the display is assembled out of parts sourced direct from manufacturers (LED Pixels, for example are sourced directly from China), other lighting enthusiasts (I am directly connected with several families that have been seen on “the Great Christmas Light Fight” over the past few years), and of course the hardware store

The Pixel LED’s are controlled by custom computer hardware built by us, and driven over a TCP/IP network by a Raspberry Pi computer.

The musical sequences are created using open-source, enthusiast created software called xLights.
