As ADHD parents, we spend a lot of time helping our children stay on track with routines, responsibilities, and daily habits.
I came across this monthly habit tracker recently, and what caught my attention wasn't the layout itself, but the idea behind it.
Imagine a child reaching the end of the month and being able to see, in one place, every small step they completed instead of focusing only on what they forgot or didn't finish.
We're all trying to build consistency, confidence, and independence in our children. Looking at this tracker, I found myself wondering whether having a clear visual record of progress could make that journey a little easier.
For those of you raising children with ADHD, what is your first impression of it?
Can you see your child benefiting from something like this?
And if you had to rate it from 1 to 10, what score would you give it?

My teen daughter can’t handle not getting what she wants. This evening she wanted me to pick her up food and drive it to her friends house, This is after not going to school all week after promising the last time we gave her money. She also left the house without permission and not telling me where she is going. I told her no because I am not a food delivery person. Want food come home. She flew off the handle sending me horrible text messages. One even about my mother/her grandmother who recently passed away. Cruel! Is it normal to be so mean?!? I find her behaviour very manipulative. I don’t know how much of it is because of the ADHD, the anxiety or being a teenager! I know the ADHD brain is 3-5 years behind in prefrontal cortex but surely she knows how mean she is being!
Edited to add: she has suicidal ideation.
She prefers to have friends over and her consequence for not going to school
Is that she can’t have friends over. That is why she leaves!
She threatens her life on a regular basis! At this point I think it is manipulation. But what if I am wrong? Then I lose my child!

I need some help! My 6 year old is very challenging. Recently he started blurting out random words like baby b***y, butt crack, stupid, etc. He will just randomly say it to his brother for no reason or just out of no where, even tonight in the shower he said “shower b***y” and no one was even in there. I’m so confused why he is doing this. When we ask him to stop he literally won’t but I don’t know if it’s out of defiance or he can’t. Anyone else experienced this and what do you do??

Hello fellow parents
I’m wondering what soap or body wash your boys use in the shower. My 10 year old has had body odor for a few years. We use the kids suave body wash but this year it does not seem to be cutting it for my boy. He gets out of the shower and with in an hour his pits are already stinky again. Yes we use deodorant too but sometimes we forget to put it on in the morning. I’m thinking maybe he needs to move to adult body wash or soap. So any recommendations? Also since we are on the subject I have always had to check to make sure he washes his whole body. He usually forgets some parts like his neck, ears, face. He’s 10.5 now and he’s wanting privacy so I’m trying to leave it alone as long as he gets the main areas. Is this normal for an ADHD boy.

Can someone please tell me how they deal with the constant asking for something to eat please. It is draining me mentally, emotionally and financially. It’s ALL the time.

Ok…this is hard!
My husband does not understand or agree with getting medicinal assistance for my daughter with ADHD.
I didn’t want to medicate her either. She’s 7 years old and diagnosed since 4. She was extremely balanced emotionally and excelling academically while at school after giving her teachers tips for getting her attention/eye contact or transitioning from one activity to another.
But recently she’s been having trouble (freezing/silent/looking off) when needing to respond or transition.
Pediatrician strongly recommends medication at this point. They previously did not recommend it so I’m confident they are not pushing meds.
My husband does not understand or agree with medicating. I personally feel he doesn’t believe mental illness is real. I have several/severe mental illnesses and I’m grateful for my medication and therapy.
How can I convince him there is enough evidence and observable proof that she now needs to “try” medication?
Any and all suggestions are welcome and appreciated 🙏🏼

ADHD Child Facing Regular Suspensions at School Help
Hello just looking for some advice regarding my son who has ADHD he is 6 and his school are not coping with him at all. He is being sent home and suspended on a regular basis and it’s extremely upsetting for us as a family. His EHCP has only recently been sent off and apparently this can take up to a year but the thought of another year with Rory at that school who cannot cope with his needs is upsetting. Is there anything we can do? I feel he needs a different school that can cope and understand his needs but I just don’t know how to make this happen. Rory was suspended today and had to be picked up at 12.30 and is allowed back tomorrow. Any advice is welcome and appreciated. Thank you
