In Time Magazine

In Time Magazine Exploring the Role Diversity Plays in All Aspects of Life Like grains of sand, no two people are alike.

Differences in cultural and ethnic backgrounds can create isolation, misunderstanding and resistance. We'll look at differences from every angle, beyond the color of your skin, family history or nation of origin.

“We cannot solve our problems with the same mindset we used when we created
them.” – Albert Einstein

Our goal is to help readers define the future with a full perspective. In Time Magaz

ine has formed an Advisory Council made up of local business leaders, government specialists and representatives from universities, cultural and ethnic organizations. The Advisory Council is In Time Magazine’s network for compiling news, information, issues and stories relevant to its focus. Issues will be published bi-monthly and distributed to ethnic businesses and organizations, as well as business development, government and social organizations. It will follow on-going trends in business, education, health and culture and will feature articles, profiles and resources. Distribution of the magazine’s issues will target business, community and political leaders from different ethnic groups. In Time Magazine will provide complimentary issues until the end of the year. Expand your markets by advertising or sponsoring your articles, messages or profiles at In Time Magazine. To advertise, please contact Tracy Meyer at [email protected].

Finally, with all the support of our Advisory Council members, and contributing writers, and all of our wonderful supporters, we have been able to successfully publish the Second Issue, and are currently in distribution!!! We are certain that this issue will not only become an interesting resource for those of you striving to navigate in this ever-changing world, especially when the entire country is trying to make up their minds in terms of the most important choices FOR the country, but also a practical guide in becoming a successful entrepreneur and a culturally competent community leader.

You asked, we listened!!! Environmental consciousness is as important for our readers, as it is for our planet. The paper we used this issue is much more environmentally-friendly! Though we did keep our beautiful cover.

Be sure to get your copy at one of our distribution outlets (Any King-County Library [out of 42 total libraries], over 30 ethnic leadership organizations in Washington and Oregon state, and Vancouver, British Columbia.) Or you can contact us and request a free copy! (Yes, it's still free!!!)

The Triumph of Galatea
Artist: Raffaello Sanzio (Raphael)
Location: Villa Farnesina Rome Italy
Year: 1513 - Type: Fresco
Raphael did not paint any of the main events of the story. He chose the scene of the nymph's apotheosis. Galatea appears surrounded by other sea creatures whose forms are somewhat inspired by Michelangelo, whereas the bright colors and decoration are supposed to be inspired by ancient Roman painting. At the left, a Triton (partly man, partly fish) abducts a sea nymph; behind them, another Triton uses a shell as a trumpet. Galatea rides a shell-chariot drawn by two dolphins.

Today, July 11th is China National Maritime Day, officially referred to as Maritime Day of China, and in Chinese: 中国航海日. It is celebrated July 11, 2005, commemorating Zheng He's first voyage. The date marks the 600th anniversary of the ocean voyages of Zheng He, navigator of the Ming Dynasty, who went on seven voyages to show China's might to the rest of the world, under the command of Yongle Emperor. These voyages sought to prove to the Chinese people that the usurper Yongle was worthy of the throne and the gods accepted him with the Mandate of Heaven. The celebration's creation honors China's commitment to the International Maritime Organization, of which it is a member. Happy Maritime Day, China!

English LYRICS for the song used in the tribute ( original video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=euwYrhHPsY8 )

On the planet of the living, it's day, it's night
On the planet of the living, it's sunny, it rains
On the planet of the living, there's dark, there's light
On the planet of the living, there's life, there's death
You took off on your final flight
And your Little Prince has flown away - forever
You've loved this life, its spice and its colours
Now you're gone forever, forever, forever...
