***LONG POST ALERT***
Hard to believe it, but midnight marks 10 years of Willdabeast, this chapter of the ride. No master plan, no manifesto, we just kept grabbin the horns, poking at sounds, and pushin the rigs a little harder each year.
It started on the back of a tour bus, horns in hand, valves buzzin, brass clangin against subs, chasing a sound that was new to us, funky, heavy, melodic, kinda reckless. We were just tryin to catch a vibe we could feel in our chests before we ever had words for it.
And yeah, we got pulled over once with Russ Liquid riding shotgun. Whole bus got searched by Jersey Patrol. Story for another day, but trust, they had nothing on us. Just two nerds with horns and 10 years of bad ideas that accidently became good songs.
Those 10 years turned into packed rooms, festival dust in our shoes, late nights on wild lineups, and stages we used to worship from afar, then stood on, then walked off like “oh damn, we’re part of this circus too now.” The Fillmore, Summer Camp and Red Rocks (with Menert), Showbox, Shambhala Music Festival (w/ Defunk), Cascade Equinox Festival, Summer Meltdown Festival
Festival nights with friends like Defunk or Moontricks or Moon H***h, where the whole place shook and just grinned back like family.
Some heroes turned into friends, some friends turned into collaborators, and somewhere in all that, the sound started sounding like us instead of somethin we were imitating.
After years of releasing, learning, mix revisions at 3AM, signing splits, chasin emails, building community one convo at a time Grand Alliance Music happened. Not plotted, not packaged, just earned by momentum and a lot of noise and a lot of love.
A home for artists pulling magic out of the fog, the same way we did, the same way we still do.
10 years later, we’re still here. Still loud sometimes, quiet when it counts, always pushing the craft, always finding new corners of sound that surprise even us.
To everyone who’s ever grabbed a mic, held a horn, shared a stage, bought a sticker or lost their voice up front when the brass hit just right—thank you. For real. You shaped the sound as much as we did.
NYE is the count-in. The real drop is the decade that comes next.
Here’s to another 10, louder, weirder, deeper, better. Love to the beautiful mfers who believed in the sound. We’re not stopping. Not even close.
𝙏𝙇𝘿𝙍:
Midnight marks 10 years of Willdabeast, this era.
Started on a tour bus with horns and zero plan.
Heroes turned friends, ideas turned anthems, chaos turned catalog.
Built the collective louder, earned by miles not plotting.
Next decade’s the drop. We love you. We’re not stopping.
