Long Range Model: A warm front moves through mid-week next week which allow the southwesterly breeze and humidity to rise.

Tropical Situation:

In the Atlantic:

Hurricane Humberto: Located 375 miles south/southwest of Bermuda. Winds are at 130 mph, central pressure of 933 millibars, moving northwest at 14 mph. It will skirt the British Island with tropical storm conditions as we head into later today into tomorrow. As per usual, these kinds of systems are what they enjoy to get the much needed rain. After that, looks to hightail off to the northeast and eventually race off into the northern Atlantic by the end of the week.

Tropical Storm Imelda: Located 295 miles southeast of Cape Canaveral, Florida. Winds are at 45 mph, central pressure of 996 millibars, moving north at 8 mph. It will become a hurricane later today and then stall later tonight ito tomorrow. As I mentioned above, will take the turn northeast into the northern Atlantic by the end of the week.

In the Pacific:

Tropical Situation:

In the Atlantic:

Hurricane Garbielle (Days of Our Lives?): Located 915 miles west of the Azores. Central pressure of 970 millibars, moving east at 29 mph. Will slam the Azores as a hurricane before becoming an extra-tropical cyclone over the weekend.

Tropical Storm Humberto: Located 550 miles east/northeast of the Leeward Islands. Winds are at 40 mph, central pressure of 1008 millibars, moving west/northwest at 15 mph. It's expected to stay the same path, move more northward, become a hurricane but will turn and stay out in the open Atlantic over the weekend.

Tropical Wave #1: Located near Puerto Rico (OHHHHHH!). It's getting it's act together. A buoy reading of 1009 millibars means it's deepening and with a center of circulation also developing means a depression is forming as it moves west/northwest .

In the Pacific:

Hurricane Narda: Located 560 miles south/southwest of the Baha. Winds are at 100 mph, central pressure of 976 millibars, moving west at 10 mph. Will continue to be a hurricane before hooking northward over the weekend and slowly dissolving into a remnant low.

Long Range Models: High pressure in control keeps us dry and seasonable as we head into the end of next week.

Tropical Situation:

In the Atlantic:

Hurricane Gabrielle: Located 580 miles east/northeast of Bermuda. Winds are at 125 mph, central pressure of 953 millibars, moving east/northeast at 21 mph. Will continue to speed up and head towards the Azores a hurricane.

Tropical Wave #1: Located 750 miles east of the Leeward Islands. it's looking healthy and saw a 1008 millibar reading from a ship report so this should be a depression soon though moving away from the islands and take the usual right hand hook out to sea.

Tropical Wave #2: Located over the northeastern Caribbean Sea. This is pretty rogue and models are all over the place. It looks to move northwest which will allow it to develop though the upwelling and upper level winds will make it tough.

In the Pacific:

Hurricane Narda: Located 365 southwest of Manzanillo, Mexico. Winds are at 85 mph, central pressure of 981 millibars, moving west at 13 mph. Will continue to move westward before shifting north by the end of the week in open water.

Will update the forecast as needed!

Sorry been off the radar since I returned home. First, thank you for the comforting messages and making me feel welcome back in NJ. It's still a nasty taste in my mouth what the station did out there but this business gives no forgiveness.

As for why I was off the grid, walked into a snake's pit. It took us over a week but finally got Daddy a supplemental insurance. Backtracking, he was diagnosed with 2 new nodes and one of the existing nodes grew a small amount. They are doing something called "pinpoint radiation" since they already did radiation and chemo on the area and have to target the specific areas. Without the supplemental insurance, it would have been $600 a treatment. So that nightmare has finally closed.

Dealing with the progression of not being all there had lead to this and dealing with doctors and insurance companies have not been fun. With that said, I continue to ask for prayers for him as we continue this 3-year fight and hopefully some positive news by mid-October

I return to my "Weather Helm" locally tomorrow AM
