Our 4th year streaming The Citadel’s Commissioning and Commencement (Cadets and Graduate programs). There’s so much that goes into making this production work and I have to commend my team, Steven Reynolds, Adam Bradley, Keanan Nelson and Neal Kinard for their excellent work and knowledge. My hat is also off to Alex Fox, Phil, Emily and the whole marketing team and Jeff (audio) at the Citadel who I work with every year and also thanks to the IT guys. Looking forward to next year.

Saturday we continued with another shoot in Catawba Nation where we interviewed 2 people with amazing perspectives. Both along the banks of the Catawba River in different locations on the Catawba Reservation. The stories for me are so powerful and delivered beautifully with a perspective not heard on a regular basis. I love documenting these stories.

Had a really good shoot in Cherokee, NC as we continue working on the documentary. This location, however was the most challenging but well worth the effort and the sound of the rushing water and connection to nature was evident.

When I put my eye on the viewfinder of my camera it gives me a glimpse of the scene. And when I see the footage while editing and I start grading (color) it can take your breath away. These are such beautiful scenes and extraordinarily beautiful people. “Life by the River” documentary continues.

Here we are at the residence of an amazing Lumbee potter or some might say ceramicists. Phyllis Lowery’s work is known around the southeast and I had the pleasure of interviewing her in her studio all apart of the doc that Nancy Chavis is producing. The stories she shared are very touching. You’ll see soon.

My work with Nancy Chavis continues as we work with the members from the Waccamaw-Siouan Tribe who told their story of living life around the river, racism and family. Many of these stories have never been told but the goal of a documentary is to bring truth to light.

3 YEARS - This was our third year producing the commissioning and commencement exercises for The Citadel-The Military College of SC. The crew did an amazing job but aside from the work we put in to making the LIVE stream happen it's a joy to see so many matriculate through this institution to become leaders in our community. As a 20 year veteran myself I understand the need for wise and understanding military leaders to examine many things throughout the world and know the impact of those decisions. Never forgot humanity. CONGRATULATIONS!!!
