Belmont Level 3 S*x Offender Community Notification

Pursuant to Massachusetts General Law the individuals classified as Level 3 S*x Offenders by the S*x Offender Registry Board are determined to be high risk to re-offend. That degree of dangerousness posed to the public is such that a substantial public safety interest is served by active community notification. The Belmont Police Department will meet our obligation and follow the guidelines and protocols of the Massachusetts S*x Offender Registry. The individuals in this and future Level 3 S*x Offender postings are NOT WANTED BY THE POLICE. The Belmont Police Department monitors department social media platforms and will remove any post that is hostile, degrading, obscene, threatening or improper. We will also block any individual from our page who violates the terms listed above. Our department will also investigate any harassment or crimes associated with this site and take appropriate action.

Dionne Will Continue Her Commitment to Public Service

Belmont, MA… Today Elizabeth Dionne announced that she will not seek re-election to the Belmont Select Board at the conclusion of her current term. Dionne, who has served the Town of Belmont with dedication and steady leadership, expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity to represent residents and help guide the community through a period of significant challenges and progress.

“Serving on the Select Board has been one of the greatest honors of my life,” Dionne said. “This community’s trust has meant everything to me, and I am immensely proud of the work we have accomplished together. However, this doesn’t end my commitment to public service. I will be announcing future plans shortly.”

During her tenure, Dionne has been known for her thoughtful fiscal stewardship, commitment to transparent government, and her focus on long-term planning for Belmont’s financial health and infrastructure. She played a key role in advancing initiatives on sustainability, community engagement, financial best practices, and responsible budgeting.

“I remain deeply committed to Belmont and its future,” Dionne added. “I look forward to supporting a smooth transition and to continuing my work as an active and engaged resident. This town is full of talented, passionate people, and I am confident that the next Select Board Member will continue building on the significant progress we’ve already made.”

Dionne will continue to serve through the remainder of her term, pushing forward on current initiatives to which she is deeply committed. She expressed her appreciation for her colleagues on the Select Board, town staff, volunteers, and the Belmont residents who have contributed their voices and energies to strengthening the community.

“Thank you for the privilege of serving you,” she said. “It has been a truly meaningful experience.”

This just in from the Middlesex District Attorney’s office:

Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Belmont Interim Police Chief Mark Hurley have confirmed an investigation into a fatal moped crash that occurred this morning at the intersection of Stults Road and Fairview Avenue in Belmont.

At approximately 8:55 a.m., Belmont Police observed a moped driving erratically and on the wrong side of the road on Trapelo Road. Police attempted to stop the vehicle, however, the operator failed to stop. The investigation suggests that the operator continued down Belmont Street and turned left onto Stults Road before colliding with a Honda CRV that was travelling on Fairview Avenue. The moped operator, identified as an 18-year-old Watertown man, was transported to an area hospital where he was subsequently pronounced dead. The operator of the Honda CRV was also transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.

This is an ongoing investigation being conducted by the Middlesex Ditrict Attorney’s Office, Belmont Police, Massachusetts State Police Collision Reconstruction Section and Massachusetts State Police Crime Scene Services Section.
