The indefinite refugee ban that took place on January 22nd and the travel ban of 20 countries signed by Trump on June 5th have traumatized the lives of hundreds of thousands of refugee families and communities both in the U.S. and globally. Thousands of people seeking refuge in the US remain stuck in a legal limbo, waiting months to be resettled and reunited with their family members. Their lives are at risk as they wait for timely reallocation and provision of housing, medical, and educational services, among others. This past Sunday, our Sunday School, along with the Belmont Scouts, assembled hygiene kits that will be distributed by the Methodist Committee on Relief as needed in emergencies.
