Millions of people in the US will be cut off from food assistance starting next week, which includes upwards of 40 million children.

Some good suggestions here for those able to donate to pantries and food banks.

Do you want to donate to the Watertown Food Pantry but don’t have the time to drop items off? Let us help make it easy! The Watertown Food Pantry is offering porch pickup once a month and will deliver your donation directly to the Food Pantry.

Most Needed Items:
Canned vegetables, fruit, beans, tuna, chicken
Pasta, rice, cereal, oatmeal
Peanut butter, jelly
Shelf-stable milk or juice

Here’s how it works:

Leave a bag or box of non-perishable (unopened, not expired) items on your porch by 9:00 AM on pickup day.

Food Pantry staff will pick it up on the first Saturday of every month between 9:00am–12:00pm and deliver it to the Food Pantry on your behalf!

Join us in prayer for people in the Philippines who were impacted by a strong earthquake just before 10 p.m. local time. The 6.9 magnitude earthquake struck the central province of Cebu, leading to the deaths of at least 70 people and causing catastrophic damage and destruction.

As we pray for those impacted, we are also in communication with our UMCOR staff and disaster management coordinators in the area, and are coordinating to provide solidarity grant support.
