🇨🇳 China, 🇨🇦 Canada, 🇲🇽 Mexico, and beyond are striking deals without us, building new trade routes, and leaving America out of the game. The result? Higher prices, factory closures, job losses, and a shrinking role in the global market.

Welcome to Today’s Trump-tastic News Roundup!

1. Trump’s “Liberation” of D.C.: So, Donald Trump is back at it again, declaring he’s going to “liberate” Washington, D.C. from crime and homelessness. That’s right, folks! The man who thinks “The Art of the Deal” is a strategic guide to neighborhood clean-up is ready to deploy the National Guard like they’re the world’s most underqualified neighborhood watch. Let’s just hope his liberation strategy doesn’t involve forcing everyone to wear red MAGA hats as a sign of allegiance!

2. The Crime Wave in D.C. That Isn’t: According to Trump, D.C. is facing a crime wave so severe that it makes Gotham City look like a summer camp. Local officials are scratching their heads, citing a drop in violent crime. Maybe Trump’s been watching too many superhero movies? Or perhaps he thinks he can just tweet crime away! “Crime, be gone!” POOF!—and it’s all solved! Who needs actual policy when you have the power of imagination?

3. Legal Troubles Galore: In other news, Trump’s legal woes are piling up like a bad sitcom plot. From business practices that make your average used car salesman look like a saint to investigations that would make a crime drama writer envious, it’s like watching a never-ending courtroom reality show. Tune in next week for the thrilling episode: “Who’s the Real Criminal?” Spoiler alert: It’s probably the guy with the golden toilet!

Testing Grounds

I don’t live where the palm trees lean,
where the sun hits glass towers and graffiti dreams,
but I hear the footsteps.
Marches echo down streets lined with sirens and silence.

Angelinos are awake.
Eyes wide to the unmarked vans,
hands grabbing fathers,
mothers pulled away mid-sentence,
children learning too soon
what it means to be left.

From Sac,
& the Bay
All the way to LA —
the people stand shoulder to shoulder,
hearts locked against the kidnappings
of our Latino community.

The news says nothing.
The cameras turn away.
But LA knows —
this is the rehearsal.
If they can cage freedom there,
they’ll cage it everywhere.

Every chant is a warning.
Every drumbeat, a prophecy.

It is our responsibility
to hold the lens steady,
to film and capture the truth,
so the next generation knows
we did not stay silent,
and their stories were not erased.

So I say to the rest of us,
open your eyes before the knock comes to your door.
The rest of the country must rise,
because this fight is not theirs alone.
It’s ours.
And when LA resists,
it’s teaching the whole nation how to survive.

It’s been an honor working with filming their events that include powerful testimonials about art and community. The current political climate has raised the levels of white noise where there’s so much going on everyday and everywhere, it’s been difficult trying to keep up with and focus on one or the other. Day trading attention has been the only way forward. The stories of immigrants and the American Dream is something I hold deep in my soul as my family is full of immigrants and while some decide to not learn our history and uphill battles to simply pull up the ladder behind us, the truth and memories will forever live on.

Homework: go ask your grandparents or mom and dads how they got here and what was their experience has been. Ask them what the American Dream means to them…
Perhaps reach out to some neighbors and ask them. Invite them over for dinner and break bread .🥖 this will be the only path forward. Or else, we will only get more of what is currently happening.

I have decided to put all of my resources and time to capture and share these stories. We need to come together and stand up to fascism. We know where that leads to…

Audio: Shure SM7B x2 (on arms)

Note; We have main Cam A on slider Ping Ponging loop. And two iso cams on each guest.

We tried to install a bulb light above, yet because of the low ceilings, we had to go with Plan because with our Iso IKan lights.

Reminder to support your local artists. Even if you purchase one small print, it goes a long way. Art 🖼️ is what this world needs more of and artists who make the decision to go for it and start a business need our support.

So, if you find yourself at your local farmers market, go chat with everyone at the booths, ask them questions and buy something (even if it’s small) These beautiful humans took that next step and they set up their little tents and art and and wait for an opportunity to chat.

That character who started that “online bookstore” (all respect to entrepreneurs everywhere) has enough of your money. 💰to keep buying mega yahchts for a thousand lifetimes…
