What an incredible day delivering the Heartland Howler gift bags to the Veterans and First Responders with service dogs at the K9s on The Front Line annual fundraiser gala. The volunteers were amazing, and their energy made the whole event feel even more special.

But the highlight for me was meeting two of the sweetest service dogs, Freya and Hannah. I had the chance to talk with Freya’s handler, and their story is nothing short of destiny. She had no idea her life was about to be saved—so she could one day pay it forward and help save someone else. Freya, a beautiful Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd mix, will graduate with her handler in April from the K9s on the Frontline service dog program.

One of their favorite things to do together is off-roading and enjoying the great outdoors, and you can feel the bond they’ve built through every word and every glance. Moments like these remind me why this work matters so much.

Our treats start with just four simple ingredients, mixed in small batches and inspected by real human eyes — never mass‑produced by machines. Every single piece is hand‑cut, hand‑checked, and hand‑packaged to reduce the risks that come with industrial equipment, like metal shavings or contamination.

We choose the slower way on purpose. Because when it comes to what goes into your dog’s body, care matters. Craftsmanship matters. Ingredients matter.

And today, that care is going somewhere extra meaningful.

This was one of the saddest editions I’ve ever printed. My Dad was gone, and it had been a year since Grandma Susie’s passing. ❤️💛

If you ever attended a seminar, you knew Grandma Susie—always cooking up a storm, making sure every officer and every dog was fed, warm, and cared for like family. And my Dad… he was always there too, quietly watching over everything, handing out swag bags, making sure everyone was signed in for their POST credits, doing the work no one noticed but everyone depended on.

Two pillars of service. Two hearts that shaped so much of what we built. Their absence was heavy, but their legacy still fills every corner of what we do.

These incredible individuals have given so much, and now they’re stepping into a journey of healing, support, and renewed purpose with their K9 companions by their side. 🐕❤️

Before the weights, we carried something heavier—our legacy.

Right after signing in for his powerlifting competition, my son helped me assemble care bags for the Veterans at K9s on the Frontline. No hesitation. No complaints. Just quiet purpose.

Because in our family, service isn’t a side note—it’s the story.

Handler education and supporting Veterans isn’t just something we do. It’s who we are. From Peter’s years as a Combat Engineer and E.D.D. Handler to Alex’s fierce pride in protecting others, this legacy runs deep. It’s stitched into every bag, every gesture, every moment we show up.

Watching Alex lift with his heart before he lifts with his strength… I saw the kind of power that doesn’t come from muscle. It comes from love, honor, and knowing exactly who you are.

To the Veterans we serve: these bags carry more than supplies. They carry our gratitude, our respect, and the hands of a little boy who already understands what it means to stand for something bigger than himself.
