There’s nothing quite like witnessing the beginning of these life-changing partnerships between heroes and their service dogs. The energy, the hope, the connection—it’s powerful. These incredible individuals have given so much, and now they’re stepping into a journey of healing, support, and renewed purpose with their K9 companions by their side. 🐕❤️

Before the weights, we carried something heavier—our legacy.

Right after signing in for his powerlifting competition, my son helped me assemble care bags for the Veterans at K9s on the Frontline. No hesitation. No complaints. Just quiet purpose.

Because in our family, service isn’t a side note—it’s the story.

Handler education and supporting Veterans isn’t just something we do. It’s who we are. From Peter’s years as a Combat Engineer and E.D.D. Handler to Alex’s fierce pride in protecting others, this legacy runs deep. It’s stitched into every bag, every gesture, every moment we show up.

Watching Alex lift with his heart before he lifts with his strength… I saw the kind of power that doesn’t come from muscle. It comes from love, honor, and knowing exactly who you are.

To the Veterans we serve: these bags carry more than supplies. They carry our gratitude, our respect, and the hands of a little boy who already understands what it means to stand for something bigger than himself.

🐾 Honored to Serve Those Who’ve Served 🇺🇸

At The Heartland Howler, we are deeply honored to be part of welcoming the newest teams of Service Dogs and Veterans beginning their journey on October 13th with K9s on the Front Line.

These teams represent resilience, healing, and hope—and thanks to the incredible support from our community and the Heartland Howler team, we’ve assembled 20 welcome bags to help them start strong.

Each Hero will receive:
📰 A copy of the Heartland Howler October Edition
💩 A roll of p**p bags (because service dogs are still dogs!)
🎒 A nylon Velcro pouch or drawstring backpack
🎾 An oversized tennis ball for play and bonding

These dogs aren’t just companions—they’re lifelines, trained to walk beside our Veterans through healing, transition, and hope.

This kind of generosity fuels more than just bellies—it fuels belonging. It reminds us that when a community comes together, we can build bridges between service and sanctuary.
