What an incredible day delivering the Heartland Howler gift bags to the Veterans and First Responders with service dogs at the K9s on The Front Line annual fundraiser gala. The volunteers were amazing, and their energy made the whole event feel even more special.

But the highlight for me was meeting two of the sweetest service dogs, Freya and Hannah. I had the chance to talk with Freya’s handler, and their story is nothing short of destiny. She had no idea her life was about to be saved—so she could one day pay it forward and help save someone else. Freya, a beautiful Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd mix, will graduate with her handler in April from the K9s on the Frontline service dog program.

One of their favorite things to do together is off-roading and enjoying the great outdoors, and you can feel the bond they’ve built through every word and every glance. Moments like these remind me why this work matters so much.

This was one of the saddest editions I’ve ever printed. My Dad was gone, and it had been a year since Grandma Susie’s passing. ❤️💛

If you ever attended a seminar, you knew Grandma Susie—always cooking up a storm, making sure every officer and every dog was fed, warm, and cared for like family. And my Dad… he was always there too, quietly watching over everything, handing out swag bags, making sure everyone was signed in for their POST credits, doing the work no one noticed but everyone depended on.

Two pillars of service. Two hearts that shaped so much of what we built. Their absence was heavy, but their legacy still fills every corner of what we do.
