“Braelyn’s First Deer”

Deer season is a deep tradition that runs in our family! This last year was extra special as Braelyn got her first chance to experience deer season to its fullest!

Family, friends, stories and good food is what it’s all about.

“Dream Hunt”
Alberta Archery Moose

We head up to Alberta with Canadian Outfitting Company in search of a dream bull moose with a bow!This trip meant so much to the both of us!!

When you invest the time and money into a trip like this you hope for nothing more than a great experience and the best opportunity you can get at your target species! Ken, Sam and the rest of the COC crew gave us nothing short of the full experience! Awesome hospitality, great camaraderie, and Ken and the crew know how to get it done!

Ken - “There is nothing easy about a moose.” This is 💯 accurate. Especially 3 moose in less than 12 hrs 😂 We all tagged out and came together working our tails off to get all three moose hauled out, cut up and heading home to our freezers! Huge congrats to Chad and Niko Tavoularis on their moose as well!!

We hope these 17 minutes give you as much excitement as it gave us! Hope you enjoy!

A DREAM COME TRUE!!!
~ Bowhunting Alberta Moose ~

Shooting a big bull moose with a bow has always been number one on the list!! Doing it together and capturing this unreal trip on film is very special to both of us!

The trip started with us visiting one of our favorite places on earth…Banff! If you have never been there you should definitely put it on your list.

We arrived at Canadian Outfitting Company after spending a couple days in the Canadian Rockies. From the moment we arrived at camp and met Ken, Sam, our guide Amanda, and the other two hunters in camp (Niko and Chad) we knew this trip was meant to be.

First half of the hunt we faced warm conditions which made for minimal animal movement and sweaty days. We stayed positive and focused knowing a big bull was only one call away.

Second half we got the cold front we needed! On the fourth morning we had our first encounter with a nice bull. He hung up and was pretty lazy but it was awesome to see our first ever moose while hunting. This particular area was loaded with sign and we knew this is where we were going to camp out for the next three days. (I also had a good feeling about this spot when I found my first ever moose shed here)

The next day we snuck out and got setup. After sitting through the morning we were ready for the evening. After hearing a twig snap I swiveled my head. It was meant to be as when I did so out of the corner of my eye I saw a big black flash across the swamp. I grabbed the binos and scanned and there he was!! Huge paddles sticking out of the willows. We quick grabbed the decoy and all our stuff and closed the distance to about 200 yards. We got all setup and Amanda grabbed a log and started raking the willows as I grunted! After what felt like forever he appeared back out of the willows standing tall and huge staring at our decoy!! This was the moment we had been working so hard for! He started licking his nose and waddling in closing the distance getting bigger and bigger! 48 yards….35 yards….28 yards and he turned broadside. I took a deep breath drew back put the 30 yard pin on him and let it fly!! Smoked him double lung. He ran 20 yards stopped started to stumble and down he went!! I SHOT A DREAM BULL!!

We will tell you if you want to shoot a moose or a giant whitetail then Canadia Outfitting Company is the place to do it! Ken & Sam and the crew are professional and know what it takes to get it done! We went 3 for 3 this week on Alberta bulls in camp! We met new friends and worked our tails off packing out three moose in less than two days and man does the sore body feel good!!

As Ken says “there is nothing easy about a moose” but the coolest hunt there is! Boy is he right!

Such an UNREAL trip! Huge thanks to our parents for watching the girls while we were gone. We can’t wait to share the amazing footage!

The extra excitement when you boat the fish you need in a tournament is very very real!!

This was our second Muskie for the tournament! It ate on the third cast of the second morning and it allowed us to make the run we needed to chase our final walleye!

Our 219 Pro V got us out there in some big ol waves and kept our ripping all day in big wind!

We rolled through some big waves to get out to the spot but it was well worth it! Second cast 5 minutes in this 29.5 came flying up and smoked it! This fish was big enough to seal the deal for biggest walleye of the Max Multi-Species Fishing Derby and also help secure the W!

Tournament rules in this one are no live bait. No Problem! Gulp 6” night crawlers on a TG jig in our opinion works even better than reel ones! The paddle tail gives it an awesome action and the best part is you catch multiple fish on one plastic!

Our first musky day one of the Max Derby was a healthy 45”er!! Crushed it two cranks in and headshot all the way to the net!

We went into this tourney feeling really good about our game plan. We stuck to it and fished clean. Day 1 we had a 45” muskie and a 29.5” walleye. Day 2 we got a 41” muskie and 26.5” walleye. Our two day total was 142” and was enough for the win!!

The Max Multi-Species Fishing Derby is a lot more than just a tournament. It’s a group of great anglers fishing for an awesome cause! It’s making an impact throught communities near and far! This tourney is as good as they come and is run by awesome people!

We cant wait for next year!

Braelyn’s First Muskie!!

This is what Muskie fishing is all about wrapped up in 60 seconds! Braelyn has worked so hard casting for hours and had so many close calls over the last couple years and all the emotions came out after this fish went into the net!!

Such a proud moment for us as parents!

Guiding has always been a passion of ours for so many reasons! It makes it real easy when your guide trips turn into fishing trips with your friends!

So happy for .holloway22 catching this giant! We have had 5 trips together with a total of 19 fish in the boat! These guys flat out catch em! So many awesome memories! Can’t wait for next year!

P.S. thank you for all the amazing Wisconsin cheese 😉

3rd time in 2hrs fishing the spot. I GOT ONE!

Everyone has those spots that look so good that they fish them until they catch one on it! Usually some of those spots become your favorite! If they look good…they probably are! It’s all about timing!
