This week's "Thursday's Dog" comes from The Rawley Project. Meet Mocha! This wonderful 5-year-old girl is a gentle, loyal companion who is ready to find her forever family. She has so many amazing qualities that make her a truly special addition to a loving home. Mocha enjoys getting out and about, and car rides are one of her favorite things, especially when the destination is a park, river, or lake where she can swim and play in the water. She loves to chase a ball and often brings it back, though sometimes she decides to keep it for herself. Plus she gets along with other dogs, cats, and kids!

Hazardous Materials Drop off Days!

Hazardous waste collection events in October to help people in rural communities get rid of items like paint, oil, chemicals and other materials that should be kept out of landfills. The events are free of charge.

Some Items that will be accepted:
• Oil and latex paints and stains
• Thinners, solvents, fuels
• Pool and spa chemicals
• Vehicle fluids (coolants, lubricants, fuels, brake fluid, transmission fluid, etc.)
• Propane tanks and camp stove cylinders

This week's Thursday's Dog is from the Humane Society of the Ochocos. Meet Gustav—a handsome Boarder Collie Mix with all the charm and smarts you’d expect from a herding breed mix! This athletic fella will happily chase the ball until your arm gets tired. He’s also a polite walking companion, already showing signs he might be heel trained—what a bonus!

True to his herding nature, Gustav will need a home without livestock or chickens, but that just means he can focus all of his love and energy on you. Gustav arrived at the shelter with another adult male, Bradford, so we think he is dog friendly but he hasn’t officially been dog tested yet.

Whether it’s adventuring outdoors, showing off his heel skills, or winding down for cuddle time, Gustav is ready to be your loyal partner through it all.

If you’re looking for a smart, affectionate dog who’s equal parts playmate and best friend, Gustav is waiting to meet you. Come by for a meet and greet!

Kids 5-14 are able to compete in their age division (5, 6-8 PeeWee, 9-11 Junior, 12-14 Senior) for belt buckles in each event. Participants also strive to win the All-Around Saddle. Events are Sheep Riding (PeeWee’s), Barrel Racing, Keyhole, Horseless Roping, Calf Riding, Breakaway Roping, Cow Riding (14 yrs), Goat Decorating (PeeWee’s) and the Chicken Rabbit Scramble (5 yrs and under).

Today's Thursday's Dog is from Brightside Animal Center. Meet Rocco!! A sweet and friendly guy who loves to explore with the help of my human. Rocco is mostly blind and also has some other medical needs but don't worry, with the right care, I can be your playful, cuddly companion for years to come.

A home that can handle my medical needs and be able to provide me with ongoing aid.

Dogs: Has done well with younger or more easy going dogs that he can walk next to and play gently with.
