We often don't appreciate how amazing our bodies and minds are until something severe happens. Automatic functions cease, forcing an intense awareness. But even after the automatic stops, the potential for healing and creating new paths remains. True awareness can begin.

đź’™ Stroke Warrior Radio was out spreading some serious Stroke Warrior vibes! đź’™

What a fun and inspiring day at OSU-Cascades, where Stroke Awareness Oregon partnered with the Physical Therapy Doctorate program to bring together providers, future PT professionals, and stroke survivors. We loved being at our booth, meeting so many amazing people, sharing stories, connecting with students and healthcare providers, and talking about the power of community, recovery, faith, purpose, and hope after stroke.

🧠💪Events like this remind us why we do what we do at StrokeWarrior Radio, to give stroke survivors a voice, share real stories, create connection, and remind everyone that recovery is a journey that doesnt have to be walked alone.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who stopped by, said hello, shared their story, or simply brought some positive energy our way. You made our day!

đź’™Stories shared. Voices heard. Stroke Warrior vibes everywhere!

Curiosity is a powerful tool in recovery. It drives us to explore, understand, and adapt. When you're curious, you find ways to make things work, even when faced with challenges.

Leaving rehab, I needed proof of my journey. Visually, it's hard to tell what I've been through. Even with job advice, the internal struggle to fit in and be understood was real. Now, I see that as fight or flight – not accepting who I am. Your body may change, but your authentic self and purpose remain.

People see the outcome but not the struggle. Recovery is often a slow, painful process. For months, even simple steps felt impossible after a severe injury, involving weeks in a boot and learning to walk again. The breakthrough came not from complex instructions, but from a simple act of support.

Move. Play. Connect.
join us for our Community Field Day!

What can you do to make a difference in the fight against stroke?
Start by showing up.

Join Stroke Awareness Oregon next Saturday, October 3 from 11:00-3:00 at OSU Cascades for Field Day, a day built around movement, connection and stroke awareness.

This isn’t a competition. It’s a challenge to get involved, get active and learn more about something that can affect any of us.

Bring your friends. Bring your family. Challenge yourself.

Because a stronger, more informed community is better prepared to recognize stroke and take action when it matters most.

Let’s show up for ourselves, for each other and for stroke awareness.
