To my theater-minded and sports-leaning friends:

Madras Speedway is still looking for a race announcer and, yes, people with theatre experience are very attractive to them.

May thru September, every other weekend plus one weekend in October.

A great opportunity to expand your voice chops, enjoy great racing, energize a crowd and make some money!!

If you are interested, please send me a message and I will connect with the person looking.

Thanks!

A seminal event in pop music history--the 1967 KFRC Fantasy Fair.

On tonight's The Ultimate Oldies Show: 1967 KFRC Fantasy Fair.

Before Woodstock, before Monterey Pop, before Altamont, a major radio station in San Francisco kicked off what became known as the Summer of Love with what has become recognized as the United States' first outdoor rock festival.

Conceived as a promotion for the station, reportedly more than 36,000 people gathered at various times on a hillside amphitheatre in Marin County to hear more than 30 bands--many from the Bay Area--perform over two days.

We celebrate this often forgotten, readily overlooked watershed moment in pop by playing great records from the artists who appeared at the KFRC Fantasy Fair and Magic Mountain Festival including The Lamp of Childhood, Jefferson Airplane, Canned Heat, The Seeds, P.F. Sloan, The Mojo Men, The Chocolate Watchband, The Byrds and more. Plus, hear from festival attendee Michael Funke and from many of the people who helped make the event happen!
