This Benicia backyard show brought some euphoria out because it’s no way this talented young legend in the making gets THIS interactive with his crowd!! I been to MANY concerts in my young life.

NONE have felt so intimate, so diverse, so LIVE, inclusive, so connected, so local, so unmistakably BAY AREA and I’m just happy to have gotten the chance to be a part of such a dope event!

I got to meet so many wonderful people today + had a mini high school reunion so many of my Benicia peeps were here.

I can’t wait to go to another show!!

He has inspired me in so many ways and we will make a song together!

Today was bigger than a launch party. 💗

It was watching something that once existed only as an idea in my mind become something I could actually see, touch and share with other women.

Financially Lit Society was created because I believe financial literacy can change the trajectory of an entire family. When a man or woman learns how to budget with intention, understand and protect their credit, eliminate debt and begin building wealth, that knowledge doesn’t stop with them. It comes home. Moms teach their children. Dads makes different decisions. And little by little, intentionality changes what is possible for the generations to come.

Today I sat in a room with six women who believed in that vision early enough to become the Founding Members of Financially Lit Society.

We talked. We laughed. We ate. We learned. We celebrated. And I had the privilege of placing The Financially Lit Workbook, my very first book into the hands of the women who helped me mark the beginning of this amazing chapter for each of us.

I looked around that room today and realized this was never supposed to be just another class and I would be doing a disservice not sharing the financial knowledge that has changed my own life.

This is community.
This is education.
This is empowerment.
This is legacy.

One day, I’m going to look back at these pictures and remember exactly what it felt like when it was still small enough for all of us to sit around one table.

And I will always remember these women as the ones who were there at the beginning. 💗
