Marquette Co. Wisconsin
This short John Muir Trail is part of Wisconsin's Ice Age Trail.
A very warm, muggy, buggy morning hike. Ennis Lake remains an unadulterated glacial lake. Muir learned in the natural lab to identify glacial material and formations. His classes at UW in the early 1860’s helped formalize his knowledge from the field. (UW was founded in 1848, 12 years before Muir’s arrival).
