🎙️ Barry Eisler Unfiltered: “The System,” Power, Politics & the Craft of Storytelling

This isn’t just an author Q&A—it’s a deep-dive into politics, prose, and the stories that shape the world.

In this exclusive, no-holds-barred interview, I sit down with New York Times bestselling author Barry Eisler to dive into his explosive new political thriller, The System. We go well beyond the page to examine the power structures shaping America—and how fiction often reveals the truths reality tries to obscure.

Along the way, we unpack the craft of writing unforgettable characters like John Rain, explore the psychology behind compelling storytelling, and geek out over everything from Star Trek and Superman to Tarantino, Rocky, and why the screenplay is the soul of great cinema.

Whether you’re a fan of John Rain, a fellow writer, or just love stories that punch through the noise—this is a conversation you don’t want to miss.

I just posted my latest novel review and it's a Trek novel. I've posted reviews of several Trek novels as of late and I doubt my Trek novel reading 📖 and listening 🎧renaissance is anywhere near its winter.
Please give it a view and let me know what you think. Let's talk Trek.

Tony Todd was not a household name, but he was a face that we all saw many times. This stage, screen, voice, and TV actor entertained us for decades. And he was one of my favorites. Rest in peace 🎭

Sh**un takes home 18 Emmy Awards.
This series was so well acted, written, edited, directed, and costumed. Everyone gave a grade A performance. And , who took home best actress, turned in one of the best performances I've ever seen in a television or streaming series.

These are the voyages...
Happy Star Trek Day
September 8, 1966
13 movies and 900 television episodes (and counting).

For me, Trek has always been. I'm part of the syndication generation who grew up on Trek. I don't recall before it was on TV.

My favorite characters are Spock, Worf, and Picard. Although Captain Pike may make the top three before SNW is over.

My biggest Trek crush was either Jadzia Dax or Deanna Troi... or Seven... but La'an and Una are fantastic too.

As far as the films, my favorite is Undiscovered Country.

But most of all, I love how much Star Trek has impacted my world view. The constant pursuit of better. Be better. Be better within who you are and be better with what you put out into the world.

Let's make sure history never forgets the name ... Enterprise.
