Our Story
KOBV is a noncommercial local station that will broadcast Bentonville event news and an eclectic mix of music (e.g. rock, electronic and hip hop). Background: In 2013, KOBV applied for a low power FM (LPFM) license for Bentonville's only open frequency, 103.3 FM. Through a very lucky series of events, the FCC granted the construction permit in April 2015. This was a rare chance for community radio. Most cities' radio-waves are completely full, the FCC hasn't accepted LPFM applications since 2001 and it may never happen again! In May of 2020, we moved into a purpose built container studio located at 8th St Market and re-engineered our systems to ensure we deliver the music 24/7.
