When I first got Kelsie, she came home to two cats and a dog, Nicholas. And within 2 years, I lost both cats and my Nicky. Nicky was a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Even though Kelsie couldn’t play with Nicky how she does with Kai she loved him so much. Nicholas one day started throwing up and when I took him to the hospital, after running multiple tests, I was told he had pancreatic cancer and it was everywhere. So I made the choice to put him down and Kelsie came with me. After this, Kelsie was alone. She didn’t want to go on walks (she always went to Nicky). She was visibly sad and it was heart breaking to watch. As time passed, she got better, but it took a lot of time. And I knew I wanted to get another dog for Kelsie and I. When Kai came, I saw more life in Kelsie. She was running around like a puppy again and still does to this day with Kai. Sure they have their days where she probably wants to throw Kai in the recycling bin lol but she adores him. And it makes me so happy to see them playing and Kelsie having a bond with her new brother. But to our Nicky, and Chloe and Tyler, Kelsie and I miss you still very much.
