Independent Bookstores Day Celebrates its 13th Anniversary
Annual Indie Bookstore event celebrated on April 25, 2026
Berkeley, CA — Moe’s Books is happy to announce our participation in the 13th Anniversary of Independent Bookstore Day!
This year, Moe’s Books will celebrate Independent Bookstore Day with as much dependence upon you as you can stand. We will offer you a free poster, discounts on children’s books and a huge SIDE WALK ART BOOK SALE. Also, there will be no chance to purchase the exclusive items from NCIBA this year because, as is our custom, we are too INDEPENDENT. Please make time to visit all your favorite local stores for those treasure. The more Independent bookstores the better.

Independent Bookstore Day (Indie Bookstore Day) was established in 2013 to promote, celebrate, and highlight the value of the Independent bookstore community. The day has been observed on the last Saturday of April every year since 2013. This year there are over 1,600 stores participating across the country.
Independent Bookstore Day is organized by the American Booksellers Association, a national not-for-profit trade organization, that works with booksellers and industry partners to ensure the success and profitability of independently owned book retailers, and to assist in expanding the community of the book.

Open everyday from 11-7, we buy your gently used books over the counter from 11-5. Our website houses the contents of our rare & antiquarian collection and our West Oakland warehouse.
