🤠 Get to know 🤠 Performing at our Sneak Dog Showcase THIS SATURDAY at . Tix in bio!

1. You’ve been in a band together since you were kids - what’s one thing about making music with your sister that still feels magical?: Lucy: The power of our harmony is basically electrifying. When we hit that note dead on, I am overcome with an unexplainable excitement. It’s called a Blood Harmony and it’s very unique because it only happens when you are related to the person you are singing with! Gwennie: I love our ability to be in sync with one another. It’s like we can read each other’s minds - it’s very magical!

2. What are some of your more unexpected influences?: Lucy: For me, it’s 50s and 60s country! I really love it for three main reasons 1) the emotive singing 2) the insane musicianship featured on a lot of the tracks 3) and lastly the simple yet poetic song writing. i would say that’s the recipe that makes ANY genre interesting and inspiring. Some of my favs include Loretta Lynn, Hank Williams, The Louvin Brothers and much much more. Gwennie: I feel like I always get inspired when I see any kind of live music. Whether it’s how the artist moves and talks on stage to special crowd interactions with the songs, there is always so much to learn.

3. What was the first song you wrote and what was it about?: Lucy: The first song I ever wrote was called “Daffodils”. It was about sitting at the window and looking outside. The disconnect & isolation of being inside vs outside, but also letting the beauty of outside inspire you. “Daffodils” was never recorded or played live. But very shortly after I wrote Daffodils, I wrote a song called “It Doesn’t Matter” which is on our first record! Gwennie: The first song I wrote was called “A Long Time Ago”. It’s a very random song that follows a tangential thought process. In the end it’s about following your heart and doing what you want to do.

1. When did you know you wanted to play music?: I’ve been playing music since I was a kid but I’ve always loved music for as long as I can remember. I taught myself guitar around 14 and knew I wanted to be in a band then! I wrote my first songs around 16 and started my first band around then as well.

2. What is your favorite pre/post show meal?: You can’t go wrong with a slice of cheese pizza

3. What’s it like sharing the stage with so many of your friends?: It’s been one of the best parts about making and playing music. I’ve been really lucky to both record and tour with some of my most favorite people in the world and it feels like a second family to me. Thanks for putting up with me! You know who you all are.

4. What inspires you?: Friends, nature, my dog, hot showers, weird chords

5. What musical milestone are you most proud of?: We’ve played a lot of festivals the last two years and each one has been an awesome milestone! MidWest Friends Fest, Hopscotch Music Festival, SXSW, Treefort Music Fest, Pouzza Fest, FEST. Also probably my biggest milestone I’m proud of is having Stefan from PUP as a guest on “You Don’t Want To Mess With Me”

1. Describe your sound in three words: Dusty surf punk

2. What’s the most “Foxx Bodies” thing that’s ever happened at a show?: Once during a show a man yelled “show us your tits” and the crowd literally pushed him out of the emergency exit of the building while screaming “boooooooo”

3. Favorite song to play live: “Annie”

4. What do you miss most about Tucson?: We miss Tucson’s music scene. Specifically: it’s too hot to do anything during the day so everyone parties at night which mean eclectic shows where we play with a bunch of different genres and everyone pays $5 MAX for a ticket to a show

5. Do you have any pre-show rituals?: At mic check, Bella always sings “hi my name is Jeff” on repeat because she worked at an indie theater called the loft cinema in Tucson and there was a man named Jeff who introduced all of the special events and started every intro with “hi my name is Jeff”
