is one of my favorite places to eat in Berkeley, and although a year has passed since I had this Halibut Crudo in Perilla Leaves as a starter at dinner service, the taste memory lingers.

Each little perilla package had halibut crudo and was topped with soy, scallions, crispy fried shallots, and fermented daikon and Padron peppers.

I love perilla leaves, which is a Korean sesame leaf, and these ones were grown at a seed regeneration farm located in Sonoma County, run by Kristen, a Korean American farmer where a lot of my favorite restaurants source produce from.

Supper at is the best! Everything at female-owned restaurant is made in house, where the ingredients are sustainably sourced from local farms.

Enjoying dinner in this space is a beautiful experience, especially with a refreshing margarita in hand!

“Restore the Earth” is the 2021 theme for Earth Day this year!

We hope you’re able to spend time outside today, soaking in the natural beauty of Mother Earth — and that we can all move forward with a renewed commitment to keep our planet safe and clean.

We asked one of our favorite photographers, Oakland based Khalil Robinson, where his best vacation was.

He said, “I think my favorite vacation I've ever had, and it's a tough one between Thailand and Iceland, but I think Thailand wins!”

Swipe to see some of his stellar photography in Thailand 🇹🇭.

This was a very meaningful post by one of our favorite ☕️ coffee and chai spots in Berkeley! Make sure to check out the full Q&A with ☮️.

Repost 🙏 from

Rasa Caffe recently did a Q&A well-known activist and educator Ericka Huggins. Here a snipet of the interview in this post.

We are fortunate that she is able to share her experiences and knowledge with us during these interesting times.

This Q&A all started out as just a few questions seeking personal clarity involving interesting times we live in. It soon turned into something more!

Ericka is also a close family to some of us that work here and a former lending member of the Black Panther Party (Minister of Education).

Hopefully you all will enjoy this as much as we did!

Thank you for checking out this post.

This is the beginning of a series of profiles about people who are living their best lives! Thank you 🙏Kitsune Cafe for being featured and thank you to his husband for writing this lovely profile about their life in Sonoma County’s Occidental, California.
Adrian is originally from San Francisco and Oakland and is 3rd Generation Chinese-American. Despite having a professional background in fashion, Adrian's first love has always been food and cooking.
After having lived and worked in Japan and around Asia for over a decade, he returned to Northern California with his husband in 2016 and found a home in the redwood forests of Sonoma County. Missing the presence of an Asian community, in 2018 Adrian began an Instagram account posting his culinary creations as a way of exploring his Asian heritage and in an attempt to reach out to the
Asian-American community of a very "white" Sonoma County.
His favored hashtag is meant as an Asian-American rejection of the colonization of "Asian food" in white dominated food culture and a reclamation of heritage. Adrian quickly built a solid community around his Instagram account, later branching out to building a website as well as starting a potluck club for the county's Asian community called Sticky Rice Supperclub.
Adrian has taught cooking classes, publishes recipes on his website as well as for local Asian-heritage farm Radical Family Farms in Sebastopol. He has dreams to do more with his love for cooking so long as it honors the heritage of Asian cuisine and culture, and pays tribute to what it means to be an Asian-American in the kitchen.

No-one’s quite sure who Percy was, but we’re just glad a reserve was created in his honour! With a mix of garden area, bush walking tracks and lawns, this park is tucked into the lower slopes of two hillside suburbs and is a green oasis just 10 minutes from the bustling suburb of Lower Hutt.
