is one of my favorite places to eat in Berkeley, and although a year has passed since I had this Halibut Crudo in Perilla Leaves as a starter at dinner service, the taste memory lingers.
Each little perilla package had halibut crudo and was topped with soy, scallions, crispy fried shallots, and fermented daikon and Padron peppers.
I love perilla leaves, which is a Korean sesame leaf, and these ones were grown at a seed regeneration farm located in Sonoma County, run by Kristen, a Korean American farmer where a lot of my favorite restaurants source produce from.
