We’ve all held onto a product way longer than we should have. (I still have my first iPod.)

At our SF Design Week event, Jay Baik put words to something important: people don’t always bond with products because they’re shiny or new. They bond because a product showed up when it mattered... and didn’t leave.

Grateful to Jay and everyone who showed up for this conversation — and to SF Design Week for creating the space for it. More coming.

What’s the moment that will matter for your product?

Beautiful evening at Pier 24 with the SF Design Week community.

Great conversations, inspiring work, and one of the most stunning gallery spaces in the city. A huge thank you to for bringing everyone together and creating such a thoughtful experience.

We’re especially grateful to have been part of ‘s 20th anniversary year.

Yesterday reminded us why we love bringing people from different disciplines together.

On paper, fertility care, architecture, and product innovation don’t have much in common. But throughout the evening, the same themes kept resurfacing: designing for complexity, understanding human behavior, and creating experiences that serve many different needs at once.

Thank you to Dr. Thalia Segal of Collab Fertility, Yann Taylor of Field Paoli Architects, and Jay Baik for such a thoughtful conversation. We covered everything from fertility care and community building to mixed-use developments, product research, and the challenge of designing systems that hold multiple perspectives without falling apart.

One of my favorite parts of the event was what happened after the panel ended. People stayed, talked, shared ideas, and made connections. That’s always the goal!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our event.

Question for you, Insta fam: are you in SF on June 4?

Then don’t miss our very special event at . It’s a full afternoon of panel discussions, workshops, and a social mixer with DJ and tasty beverages. The topic: Exploring how to build brands and spaces that serve diverse needs—such as clinical authority versus emotional warmth in healthcare—without feeling fragmented. The location is the very swanky GSC Gallery near the Ferry Building, and we’ve got a stellar lineup of guest speakers.

Today’s featured panelist is my friend and colleague Jay Baik. Jay has spent his career helping organizations understand how changing human behaviors, cultural shifts, and emerging technologies reshape the products and experiences people want and need. He has led innovation and consumer insight teams at Samsung Electronics and Amazon. He’ll be joining us in conversation about how user research can unlock unique insights into the products we use in our every day lives.

Part panel, part workshop, part social gathering.

We’re excited to have Yann Taylor joining our SF Design Week panel next week on June 4.

As Principal at Field Paoli Architecture, Yann has spent decades thinking about how spaces can serve multiple audiences and purposes while still creating a strong sense of place.

Projects like First Street Napa have to accommodate locals, tourists, restaurants, retail, gathering spaces, everyday routines, and events simultaneously, all within the same environment without feeling fragmented.

We’re looking forward to bringing Yann’s perspective into a broader conversation about how brands, products, and experiences navigate complexity coherently.

One of the things we’re excited about for our panel is bringing together people from very different disciplines who are all navigating the same underlying challenge: complexity.

Dr. Thalia Segal has built Collab Fertility around the idea that fertility care can be both medically rigorous and deeply human at the same time — something many healthcare brands struggle to hold together coherently.

She’ll be joining us on June 4 for a conversation on how products, spaces, and experiences can serve multiple audiences and identities without feeling fragmented.

Part panel, part workshop, part social gathering.
