One of the greatest rewards of homesteading isn't just the fresh food—it's watching the next generation learn where it comes from. Tonight's harvest brought in fresh green beans, tomatoes, peppers, and one giant zucchini that was almost as big as my little helper! These are the moments that make all the weeding, watering, and waiting worth it.

What's your favorite thing coming out of the garden right now? 🥒🍅🫑

Happy Father’s Day to the steady hands behind the homestead—the ones who tend the land, fix what’s broken, and make life a little more rooted every day.

From garden rows to barn doors, your work is never unnoticed. 🌾🐓

A little harvest from earlier this week🌿

Life has been busy, but the garden and chickens have been keeping us well supplied. This basket was filled with fresh eggs, chamomile, blueberries, basil, lettuce, and peas—all grown right here on our little homestead.

It's easy to get caught up in the work that goes into gardening, but moments like this are a good reminder of why we do it.

Watching a tiny seed become food for our family never gets old.

A lot of people ask if preserving food is worth the effort.

This shelf is my answer.

Most of what's pictured was harvested and preserved last year, and it's still helping feed our family today. Tomatoes, pickles, herbs, dried fruits, vegetables, jams, and more—all put away when the garden was overflowing and enjoyed long after the growing season ended.

There's a certain peace of mind that comes from opening a jar in the middle of winter and knowing exactly where that food came from.

Now it's almost time to start filling the shelves all over again. 🌱🥫

What's something you've preserved that you're still enjoying from last year's harvest?
