UPDATE: Special judge Gary Arnold granted the prosecution's motion to continue Thursday's hearing. Defense counsel W.H. Taylor did not object. A pretrial hearing is now scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 17. The case remains scheduled for trial beginning Monday, June 22.

Carroll County Prosecuting Attorney Tony Rogers has filed a motion to postpone Thursday's scheduled plea hearing for Thomas Kevin Blewett, citing evidence obtained during a June 2 interview. Blewett, who is charged with first-degree murder in the July 2025 shooting death of Alexzander Bernhardt, was expected to plead guilty to manslaughter at the hearing.
