I would like to take this opportunity to introduce our newspaper, EL DIA Newspaper, which is a bilingual publication and has been published for the past 33 years, uninterrupted. It is a weekly newspaper with a total circulation of 60,000 every Friday. Our distribution covers Chicago, Cicero, Berwyn, North Riverside, Melrose Park, Aurora, among other suburbs of Illinois and some parts of Wisconsin.

Our distribution is done through the use of newsstands, supermarkets, businesses, house-to-house, US Mail, and among other means. The Trump administration has both the funds and the legal authority to fully fund SNAP in November. By choosing not to, they are effectively cutting food assistance for 42M Americans—including 1.9M in Illinois.

This is cruel. They must release the funds for SNAP immediately.
