Tomorrow, Saturday the 6th, from 10 am to noon, we will have limited food distribution—these will not be full baskets. All the items will be in our backyard and we ask people to take only what they can use. Make sure to park in the north side lot and walk around to the back.

In the past 72 hours there have been 2 animals test positive for rabies in Oklahoma County. One in the City of Edmond and one in the City of Yukon. Both were skunks, but the virus can easily be spread to dogs and cats. It is required by Bethany City Ordinance for all dogs and cats to be current on their rabies vaccination. Most rabies vaccinations have to be repeated every year, but some are every 3 years. Make sure you check your vet records and ensure that your animals are current on their rabies vaccination. There are inexpensive options to get your animals vaccinated against the rabies virus. If you need help, please contact the shelter for information.

🌟Please remember that regardless of the severity of an animal bite, it must be reported to either Bethany Animal Welfare at 405-789-3431 or to the Bethany Police Department, even if it is your own animal! It is against the law to not report a bite by an animal.
