Harrison County, MO: The Northwest Missouri State Fair will be a stop on the Amped Up Professional Bull Riding Tour on the opening night of the fair over the Labor Day weekend.

Bethany, MO: In a past City Council meeting, Councilman Larry Simpson proposed to bring back the yard of the month. A program meant to highlight a local resident’s effort in lawn maintenance. The selected yard will bear a newly developed sign to bring attention to the citizen’s hard work in yard care.

Harrison County, MO: As of late, Exit 88 and the surrounding areas of the interstate’s on and off ramps, including the visitor center, have been drawing a bit of attention, especially from a few members of the community. In the last issue of the Republican-Clipper, the paper ran a story about noxious w**ds growing in areas of the interstate aprons.

Bethany, MO: Bethany’s City Council meeting was held last week at City Hall, where the council discussed topics ranging from dog ordinance changes to an easement release. As the meeting opened, Park Director Aaron Baker, joined by Park Board President Patrick Miller, took the floor to request approval for a long-standing project.

Harrison County, MO: Delivery of the Republican-Clipper to the eastern half of Harrison County was delayed by a day last week when the USPS abruptly discontinued its afternoon dispatch truck from the Pattonsburg Post Office to the Chillicothe section center. This impacted some subscribers in the Cainsville and Gilman City areas who are served through mail carriers based at Princeton and Trenton, respectively.
