Apple picking in New Hampshire & Vermont? 🍎
Apple picking season in New England generally runs from August through October, with September being the peak month (and a personal favorite) for many popular apple varieties.
What are your go-to PYO places?
See comments below for a few we’ve gone to personally and loved!
* Londonderry, NH: Mack's Apples (Moose Hill Orchards): A long-standing, 400-acre farm with extensive orchards for pick-your-own apples, a pumpkin patch, and (bonus points!) Richardson's Ice Cream.
* Walpole, NH: Alyson's Orchard: A long-time favorite picturesque 450-acre farm in Walpole featuring more than 50 varieties of apples, including heirloom types. It offers hayrides, beautiful views, and is also a popular wedding venue.
* Merrimack NH: Currier Orchards: A family-run, rustic PYO apple orchard right in Merrimack, near the border with Nashua. It is a smaller, less crowded experience perfect for families with young children.
* East Montpelier VT: Peck Farm Orchard is a family-run (for 8 generations!) apple orchard located in East Montpelier, Vermont. The orchard typically offers a variety of activities during the fall season, including apple picking, cider donuts, fresh-pressed cider, and a corn maze. Occasionally known to have live music!
* Loudon, NH: Meadow Ledge Farm is a family-run orchard in Loudon, New Hampshire, known for its apple picking and famous cider donuts. For the 2025 season, early varieties of apples are already available for picking.
