The lake effect snow machine is getting fired up over NW Pennsylvania, while the snowbelt is getting rocked, we will be on the look out for some streamers and squalls that head east towards the Lehigh Valley!

The window for these snow squalls will be 5PM to MIDNIGHT NEW YEARS EVE! I will be tracking the radar as always to give you the up to the minute forecast. Give yourself plenty of travel time, it's a big night! BE SAFE

There is another chance of light snow possible New Year's Day.

Heads up, we have some snow squalls and snow showers popping up and appears they will continue into the night. They can and will cover roads instantly with these temperatures and things will become very slick very fast. Not every location will see them , just use caution tonight!

Wind gusts up to 50MPH yet this evening, that'll roll into Tuesday with gusts up to 45MPH.. Its like Groundhog Day, but with Wind Advisories....

Wind chill temps won't leave the mid teens Tuesday.

Long range, I just don't see any signs of this cold letting up. So dress warm, order some more oil , and relax.

The long range forecast weeklies are here for the month of JANUARY! Average snowfall at LVIA is 11.1โ€.

Picture is the EURO, GFS, and CMC.

I do believe we are going to go ABOVE average for the month, potentially in just one storm. January looks active with MULTIPLE storm threats showing up through just January 10th!

I believe we are through with accumulating snow for the month of December, I wanted to share the model weeklies that I shared back at the end of November.

Through today LVIA airport is at 8.5โ€ of snow for the month. The historical December average is 3.8โ€. Meaning we have more than doubled up.

Take a look at how the GFS, EURO, and CMC one month snowfall from the 21st of November did! Damn near spot on for ABE. Now, they were a little light on the Poconos by a few inches, as here outside of Palmerton Iโ€™m reporting 13.7โ€ so far, with even more to the north.

Average seasonal snowfall at LVIA is 32.3โ€.

Keep this in mind, as the next post will have the long range models for the month of January ๐Ÿฅด๐Ÿ˜Š
