All 3 major modeling extended long range forecasts, continue to show a snowy December. With 6-8” of snow falling by Christmas Day…

Keep in mind, seasonal average for December at ABE is about 4”. So the potential is there to kick off the winter season ABOVE average.. 😇

If you're dreaming of a White Christmas, you'll love the look of the extended European Model.

This is a pretty similar look to the GFS, CMC, and CFS extended outlooks as well. While I don't particularly put a lot of faith into models past 5 days, let alone one month, more and more signs are pointing to a higher chance of snow and cold for the month of December.

(This particular map shows TOTAL snowfall through Christmas Day)

Some light rain moves in this evening, will mix with and change to a period of snow for the morning rush (4AM-7AM). Precipitation will be out of here by 9-10AM with some sun returning for the afternoon. With temperatures being marginal around 34-36 degrees, this won't be a big deal for most, the timing of it causes some concern. I would expect some slick spots in certain areas, so give yourself a bit of extra time to get where you need to go. I don't think school delays will be common in the Lehigh Valley.

Poconos and N&W another story, a coating to an inch is expected there so I'm sure that'll prompt some delays.
