While we do moderate comments on social media, we also encourage the vibrant expression of diverse views about our content, as well as civil and dignified speech, as much as possible. However, we ask that members of our community please respect the following guidelines:

Be polite. Disagree without name calling, slandering or personally attacking others in our community. Civil discourse is encouraged, aggressive attacks and commentary are not. Do not post anything that could be taken as threatening, harassing, sexist or racist on our digital content. No obscenities, no transphobic, bigoted or racist language. Post only your own work and thoughts. You are welcome to add quotes with attribution, or link to other relevant articles to support your argument, but do not copy and paste lengthy excerpts from other people’s work or violate any copyright regulations. Please don't post the contact information or private information of other people. Please also don’t use this public forum for private communications. Please stay on topic and keep your comments brief. No advertising messages, recruiting, campaigning, soliciting or proselytizing. There are more appropriate venues for that. We reserve the rights to moderate whether a post is solicitation or not, and will moderate as appropriate. Report abuse and flag bad behavior when you see it. We appreciate the news tips members of the public share with us. However, please don’t share misinformation. Our goal as a public media organization is to give our community clear, concise and fact-based news and information. If you post something as fact, please substantiate it with a credible source. What’s a Donor-Advised Fund?
A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a charitable account managed by a sponsoring organization. When you contribute money or assets to the account, the sponsoring organization takes ownership, but you (the donor) recommend (or advise) how the funds are invested and which charities receive grants (funds).

Why do people use them?
DAFs let you donate now and decide later which charities to support. Contributions may qualify for a tax deduction, and the funds can be invested to grow before being granted out.

DAFs must follow IRS rules - visit irs.gov or talk with a tax professional for more details.

Join Lehigh Valley Public Media, home to PBS39 , WLVR News, and Lehighvalleynews.com , for a screening of Light in the Darkness, a powerful documentary exploring the impact of hate and the strength of compassion. This compelling true story is produced by Not In Our Town, a national organization whose mission is to stop hate, racism and bullying, and build safe, inclusive communities for all.

After the film, we encourage and welcome our attendees from local high schools to participate in a workshop that illuminates the importance of standing together to offer our community understanding and empathy. Facilitated by Faces International, a strategic consulting and coaching organization; the workshop will dive into real conversations about bullying, bias, and what it takes to stand up against hate in our own schools and communities.

“You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you. What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.” - Jane Goodall

We join the world in mourning the loss of Dr. Jane Goodall, the visionary scientist, conservationist, and humanitarian whose groundbreaking research forever changed the way we understand the natural world. From her pioneering field studies of chimpanzees in Gombe Stream National Park to her tireless advocacy for wildlife conservation and climate action, Dr. Goodall’s life’s work was defined by a profound respect for all living beings and an unshakable hope for the future.

For more than six decades, she inspired global audiences—including countless PBS viewers—with her message that each of us has the power to make a difference. Through her research, writing, and activism, she reminded us that protecting the natural world is inseparable from nurturing compassion and justice in our own communities.

We can continue to learn with Dr. Goodall through her significant profile of work and interviews. A selection of which can be found here: https://trib.al/mB06wKj

👋 Hi there, Fall!

At Lehigh Valley Public Media, we welcome the start of a new season as the temperatures dip a little, nights grow longer, and the crackle of campfires can be heard through the trees.

We want to know—what is your favorite part about the new season? 🎃🍂👻

We are so grateful for an incredible afternoon in historic Bethlehem, Pennsylvania for "Walking Through History: Moravian Women in the Revolutionary Era" with our neighbors, friends, and partners.

We started with a walking tour of the UNESCO World Heritage Site lead by Historic Bethlehem Museums and Sites to kick off the event.

Following the tour, we entered the Grand Ballroom of Hotel Bethlehem for a delicious luncheon featuring an exclusive screening of the soon-to-be-released documentary series THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION.

We enjoyed dessert as our special guest speakers, Dr. Katherine Faull (Founding Executive Director, Institute for Moravian History and World Heritage, Moravian University) and Scott Paul Gordon (Professor of English and Andrew W. Mellon Chair, Lehigh University) hosted by Lehigh Valley Public Media's Brittany Sweeney shared their expertise.

After the luncheon, another group headed out to enjoy a second walking tour - now armed with a greater understanding of the events and people who shaped a large portion of Bethlehem's history and faith story.

If you missed it, don’t fret! There are more events celebrating the history of our region and nation through our yearlong programming. Visit PBS39.org/LV250 for details!

Thank you to our community partners and for creating meaningful afternoon for our guests.

Special thanks to for making this event possible.

P.S. If you're curious about the rocks - you need to sign-up for a tour with our friends at Historic Bethlehem Museums & Sites!
