An arrest warrant for violating local animal control laws & animal cruelty has been issued for actor and singer Tyrese Gibson, according to Fulton County officials.
On Sept. 18, one of Gibson’s neighbors called the Fulton County Police Department and said one of Gibson’s four Cane Corso dogs “roamed freely in the Tuxedo Court neighborhood in Buckhead and had just killed the neighbor’s dog, a 5-year-old King Charles Cavalier Spaniel,” officials said.
Officials said Tyrese four dogs were seen on camera scratching at a door across the street from where the dog was found dead minutes before the attack.
The dogs were “reported running loose on five occasions” before the attack, Fulton County officials said. Gibson had received several warnings, officials said.
On Sept. 22, Gibson said he would surrender the dogs but when officers arrived, “he instead wanted three or four days to decide what to do,” officials said.
When officers returned later that day with a search warrant, “Gibson was gone and the dogs had been moved.”
“Pet ownership is a responsibility that is not to be taken lightly. Those who allow their dogs to roam neighborhoods unrestrained will face serious consequences,” Robb Pitts, Fulton County board of commissioners chairman, said in a statement.
