Concert + Movie! Opening night of the American tour at the Palladium in LA, followed by the incredible big-screen feature “Are You Ready, Boy?” the next day. What a weekend! We were in line by 4 PM; he hit the stage around 9, but that early arrival landed us 3rd row on the floor!
The performance was electric. This being our third Yungblud show, I had a deep understanding of his epic, transformational journey to the current iteration of his artistry. I’ve been a diehard since 2020—Stan level. I flew my daughter and myself to the UK in 2021 to see him in a tiny Birmingham venue. I knew he was going to be the next big rockstar of a generation and that his shows would someday fill arenas. (His 2026 tour sold out in under a minute!) Seeing an extraordinary artist in a small venue is truly incomparable.
I said it the day I encountered Yungblud on YouTube—singing Wild Horses with Machine Gun Kelly (whom I also predicted for major fame in 2018, but that’s beside the point). I was instantly captivated and called my daughter: “WHO. IS. THIS?!” “Yungblud,” she said.
Quickly I told her, “Watch. He’s going to be massive.” I’ll forever brag that I called it five years before it happened, lol. I may not know everything, but I know a rockstar when I see one.
Especially one who brings to the stage something new and different. Something entirely his own, yet perfectly influenced by the greats. His rebellious f**k-it-all energy is unusually balanced with a gentle and brave vulnerability—all mixed with a huge and impressive understanding of a century of artists and bands. Wrap that all up with a torrent of talent, and you’ve got yourself a bona fide rock star.
Dom is literally one of my favorite people on the planet. Before the recent and well-deserved fame, he was the voice of the misfits, the unwanted, the misunderstood, the lonely, the unique—the ones trying to find their way outside society’s norms.
The movie was incredible—a full telling of Idols, with live recordings and the story behind every song. Each track had its own “look,” embracing the many identities within us. It made perfect sense.
48 hours with Yungblud—and it was gorgeous. ❤️
Red Rocks, see you soon…!
