If there’s one thing harder for a brand than approaching the status of an icon - it’s retaining the olympic status. Sometimes by re-invention and evolution, and sometimes by creating clever conceptual connections. Just like us human beings, juxtaposing a brand to equally perceived personas and ideas tells the story of what it is.

When looking at a match between an iconic, first-row french artist as Yves Klein - leader of the 60’s New Realism movement and Swiss premium art materials brand Caran d'Ache, what we see seems natural & organic. The values of a brave artist, captured in the history of art thanks to his courageous decision to paint with a single primary color - blue - are embedded into the brand’s ID. On & : What do brands do to retain desirability and broaden reach? Collaborate with art initiatives on while expanding portfolios and maximizing exposure to masses. Check out my merch from last year’s visit to the Louis Vuitton X pop-up in Beverly Hills (part museum / part shop), where past LVMH interactions with creators as Cindy Sherman and Rei Kawakubo are presented along these funky monogram stickers, a homage to the hosting city of Los Angeles. There’s plenty of space for the high, for the low and for everything in between the axis.

The newly launched MINE, an Israeli innovation, claims the average user leaves personal traces in no less than 350 commercial companies, violating his/her privacy - although statistically, 80% of them are for disposable, one time use .
