Yet why do we think it's okay in business to only be pitching. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for selling your services. I'm all for you getting compensated for doing great work. But this machine gun firing approach needs to stop.
I have a better solution for you, I've used it time and time again to land massive deals. When you connect with someone instead of pitching.... be human. Get to know about them, their business, and see if you can help them over helping yourself.

My first article I ever published (on Linkedin) generated over 2000 social shares. I've created live streams with thousands of concurrent viewers. Just last month I created a Youtube video that generated 2,000 views with under 100 subscribers.
You don't have to have a massive following to go viral, you don't have to have high production value. You just have to know "how" in terms of what type of content you need to create.

Broke, Homeless with .43 cents to my name
One of the best experiences of my life was when I was broke, homeless with .43 cents to my name. As Oprah Winfrey once said "You get to know who you really are in a crisis."
Life is a crucible, that you get to heat up and forge a new version of yourself with. In this crucible that is life, you put all your pain, suffering, trials, tribulations, dreams, desires, and experiences in it.
Every time you get knocked down, you have a new opportunity to get back up. Every time you muster the courage, the tenacity, the strength, and willpower to get back up... life allows you turn that fire up a little more.
As that fire inside you gets hotter, as you try and become a bigger version of yourself, life will push more challenges your way.
Please hear me, keep running forward. If you have the courage to get up one more time then the world knocks you down, you will win.
Keep pushing yourself. Keep trying to be a better version of yourself. Most importantly, embrace the failures.

Do you stand for something? Have you looked around your world and said X is wrong, and I stand for Y?
If not, you do not have a "brand." It doesn't matter if you wear a certain type of clothing to "brand" yourself. It doesn't matter if you have consistent imagery or a catchy little phrase. The only way to build a brand is to STAND UP for something. To say "this is what I believe in, these are my values, and this is how I am going to change the world."
Branding is about the story, the message, or as @Simon Sinek says the "why."
