Let’s talk about nail salon sanitation! Poor sanitation can lead to some not-so-fun health issues like infections and nail fungus. 💅
When visiting a salon there are lots of things we look for, but some basics are:
-Does the salon sanitize metal tools between clients?
-Does the salon use appropriate disinfectants, such as EPA-registered hospital grade disinfectants?
-Do they throw out non-metal tools like paper towels, files, and buffers between clients to avoid cross-contamination?
-Does the salon properly sanitize their pedicure stations between clients? (According to EPA.gov, disinfectants need to work for the full time listed, often 10 minutes.)
-Do they use disposable tub liners for pedicure stations?
We recently visited MiniLuxe’s Beverly Hills location for a World Cup-themed manicure and to check out their Clean Lab.(The brand has 23 studios nationwide.) Rather than sterilizing tools behind closed doors, The Clean Lab allows guests to see the cleaning process firsthand.
