Tummy time looks different every single month! At 5 months, babies should be holding their head up well while in tummy time and able to tolerate longer stretches. Some may be rolling all directions, some may still be working on that. Both are normal and it’s important to set up their play space to encourage them to roll or pivot by placing objects or toys of interest around them and making sure they have plenty of space to move around. Around 5-6 months, babies will typically start to push up into hands with their arms extended. This is something we want to encourage as it preps them for eventually getting into all fours, and then crawling. Make sure you are following for baby and toddler development information and tips!
