It's celebration time in the Christmas Capital Of Virginia!
Temperatures creep up to the upper 30's by the start of the Bedford, VA Christmas Parade with our high today hitting the mid-40's for the start of the Community Tree Lighting festivities this afternoon.
Come out and spend the day in Bedford, see the parade, get lunch, visit the Festival of Trees Bedford VA, shop at the Bedford VA Farmers Market Christmas Market, visit the vendors and activities along Main & Bridge Streets while enjoying music, visits from Santa & the Grinch, and more before we light the big tree at 6pm!

Let’s be honest: The urge to just ghost your social media until January is strong right now. 🎄🛑

It is already a busy season for us here in Central Virginia. Between the holiday rush and trying to close out the year, posting on Instagram feels like just one more thing on a very long to-do list.

But here is the thing I tell business owners all the time: You cannot disappear for a month and expect your community to still be waiting there for you in 2026.

Usually, the reason we want to quit is because we believe these 5 myths in the carousel above. We think if it’s not "viral" or "perfect," it doesn't count.

That pressure makes the holidays feel impossible.

The reality? You don't need to be perfect right now. You just need to be present. Staying consistent now—even imperfectly—is how you beat the "after-holiday slump" and start the new year strong.

On Veterans Day, my thoughts are with all the men and women who have served our country. It's a day to reflect on their commitment and to say thank you for the freedoms we all share.

Ronald Reagan once said, "Some people live an entire lifetime and wonder if they have ever made a difference in the world. A veteran doesn't have that problem."

That quote always sticks with me. To every veteran in our community, thank you for the difference you've made. We are so grateful for your service.
