The Microtel by Wyndham, a new hotel off the 83 and Cala Way is going to the Flathead planning board on Oct 14th at 6pm for their conditional use permit.

“The 64-room hotel is projected to generate approximately 511 average daily trips, resulting in a total of about 813 daily trips within the subdivision”

Wanting to remind Flathead County MT Commissioners that there are VERY REAL concerns for safety and the negative impacts of their decision are irreversible. They approved 51 lots yet why is Teton Land Development promoting online and in radio ads around the US a development of 120 1 acre (average) building lots?

“When this initially came before us, we had a lot of discussion about phasing and the impacts of a larger development. The developers came before us with a smaller design and it specifically said on the maps that this discussion does not include any larger area other than the 51 lots. I think that’s been an important need for me,” Chairman Randy Brodehl said.
Commissioner Pamela Holmquist added that conditions of the application must be met before final plat approval.

Flathead County Commissioners approved Northshore Woods housing development’s preliminary plat on Tuesday, Oct. 1, despite resounding disapproval received in public comment.

We apologize for not updating sooner. On October 1, 2024 the Flathead County Commissioners voted to approve the 51 plat.

While not at all surprised, we disagree with the decision and their belief that even this many homes will have minimal to no impact on our roads, infrastructure, fire safety, and schools. We all know this is still just the beginning and that it's not over. We are still going to fight every step of the way. We encourage everyone to let the commissioners know how you feel about this decision and to make your voices heard.

The commissioners will not be making a decision until their next meeting on October 1st where they will hold a vote. They are allowing public comment via email up until then, so if you did not get a chance to email in, please do so before the 1st.
